NEW DELHI: A 28-year-old man, Mohit Ridhau, has been arrested in Kolkata for his alleged involvement in a shooting incident that took place at a second-hand luxury car showroom in West Delhi last week, according to police reports on Monday.
The arrest was made through a collaborative effort between the West Bengal and Delhi police forces.
Ridhau, who hails from Sonipat, Haryana, is currently being transported to Delhi. An officer stated that the suspect has been named in approximately twelve criminal cases across Delhi and Haryana.
Prior to Ridhau's arrest, a "spotter" named Ketan, who had transported Ridhau and another shooter to the showroom on his motorcycle, was taken into custody.
The shooting incident occurred on May 6 at the Fusions Cars showroom located in Tilak Nagar. Two shooters opened fire on the premises, resulting in seven individuals sustaining injuries from shattered glass fragments caused by bullets striking the doors and windows.
At the scene of the crime, the shooters left behind a handwritten note containing the names of three gangsters: Himanshu Bhau, Neeraj Faridkot, and Naveen Bali.
The owner of the showroom got a call from an international number and Rs 5 crore was demanded from him as "protection money", police said. Efforts are underway to nab the other shooter, they added.
