Kolkata: The Centralised Admission Portal (CAP) closed at midnight on Monday, with 24.6 lakh applications and registrations from over 4.4 lakh candidates. Meanwhile, Presidency University closed its UG admission portal on Monday after receiving over 15,000 applications.
The CAP merit list will be published on June 9. Seat allocation and admissions will be held from June 9 to 15. The registration process had started on June 18. Department officials are hopeful about the UG admission scenario across state-aided colleges. Of the total applications, there are around 1.9 lakh male applicants and around 2.5 lakh female candidates.
Presidency University opened its portal on May 19. The university is conducting its own admission process after a decade. Of the 17 departments, six — chemistry, statistics, life sciences, economics, history, and political science — will admit students based on entrance tests. The remaining departments will admit students based on a formula comprising class 10 and class 12 board marks. Entrance tests for the six subjects will be held between June 12 and 14.
