The bridges will likely be inaugurated on September 30. They have also cited some technical issues.

The authorities are also planning to reopen the

Chetla Lock Gate bridge

on the same day. State urban development and municipal affairs minister Firhad Hakim, who is also the KMDA chairman, discussed the matter with senior officials on Tuesday. Hakim said KMDA was working on the plans and the four bridges will be opened in a few days from Mahalaya.

Earlier, the authorities had planned to open the Karunamoyee canal bridge either on Tuesday or on Wednesday and the two other bridges by Mahalaya. " Work on the Izzatullah Lane bridge will be completed by Mahalaya. GRSE, which is fixing the steel superstructure of the Lake Town Bailey bridge, will hand it over to KMDA by Mahalaya," a KMDA official said.

Chetla Lock Gate bridge repair was hampered on Tuesday due to the heavy rains.
