Two parked school buses gutted in fire in Idukki

Idukki: Two school buses parked inside a shed were gutted in a fire at Deepa High School in Kuzhitholu, Idukki. The incident occurred around 11am on Tuesday. According to reports, the fire first broke out in one of the buses parked inside the shed. Residents who noticed flames rising from the vehicle immediately informed school authorities and the fire force. Within minutes, the fire spread to the second bus as well. A short circuit that occurred during welding work near the shed is suspected to have caused the fire, according to preliminary findings. Fire and rescue services personnel from Kattappana and Nedumkandam managed to douse the flames with the assistance of residents. However, both buses were completely destroyed in the blaze. Kambammettu police have initiated further proceedings.
