Swami develops infection, seeks bail from HC

KOCHI: The godman, whose genitals were allegedly chopped off by a woman while resisting rape attempt, has sought bail in the case.

before the hign court, it was informed that Swami has developed infection on his mutilated private part.

“If bail is allowed, he can be admitted to the pay ward of the hospital where he is being treated,” the counsel argued. Swami is in judicial custody now.

The court directed the prosecution to submit a medical report and posted the case for further hearing on July 27.

Swami was arrested from a hospital after he sought treatment following the bobbitisation incident. The woman, a law student, had earlier said in her statement before police that she was trying to resist Swami’s rape attempt and he had abused her before as well. However, she changed her stance later. Police had then sought permission for conducting lie-detection test on her while she requested CBI probe into the incident.
