Idukki: Idukki SP R Karuppasamy on Tuesday directed the

Munnar DSP

to conduct a probe into the report that some police personnel attached to

Munnar

police station have allegedly leaked out certain ‘details’ from the computer used in the station to extremist organizations.
Some policemen attached to the station reportedly provided assistance to the act. According to sources, the intelligence wing submitted a report on the issue, after which the higher officials decided to conduct a probe.
Some of the accused officers are trying to get transferred from Munnar police station after knowing about the probe, sources said.
Karuppasamy said that he has directed the Munnar

DSP

to conduct a probe into the issue and submit a report.
“We didn’t get proper details regarding the issue and I have directed the DSP to probe the issue based on the media reports,” the SP said.
Munnar DSP K R Manoj said that he will conduct a detailed investigation into the issue.
In a similar incident, a civil police officer, Anas P K, attached to the Karimannoor police station, was terminated from the services in February for allegedly leaking out details of RSS/BJP leaders in the district to an

SDPI

leader through the official domain of the police.
In January, a show-cause notice was served to him to explain the reasons for not being dismissed from the services.
His reply was not satisfactory and he was terminated from the services.
