Sabarimala pilgrimage season

The annual Mandalam-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season at the Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple is set to commence on Thursday. The sanctum sanctorum will be opened by head priest K Jayaraman Namboothiri at 5pm, in the presence of Thantri Kantararu Mahesh Mohanaru.

Mandala Puja day

Police all set

The state police chief, Shaik Darvesh Saheb, has confirmed that comprehensive arrangements are in order. Following a meeting with senior officers in Pamba on Wednesday, Saheb announced that a total of 13,000 policemen would be deployed in six phases for duty. Special provisions will be implemented to ensure that the elderly and children have a smooth and comfortable darshan experience.

Three temporary stations

Three temporary stations will be established at Sannidhanam, Nilackal, and Vadasserikkara, with the utilization of drones. Fifteen counters are prepared for the virtual queue system. Pilgrims arriving at Pamba are advised to park their vehicles at Nilackal, where 17 grounds have been designated for this purpose. The Director-General of Police (DGP) emphasized that vehicles reaching Nilackal should be equipped with FASTag, as parking allocations will be facilitated through this system.

Internet connectivity

BSNL has installed 11 extra mobile towers along key roads leading to Sabarimala to ensure seamless connectivity. Pilgrims can now enjoy optical fibre connectivity with a speed of 300 Mbps at Sabarimala, Pamba, and Nilackal. A customer service center is available 24/7 at Pamba and Sabarimala. Additionally, pilgrims will have access to public WiFi services while in virtual queues at Pamba and the Sabarimala queue complex.

Visudhi Sena

The Visudhi Sena, the sanitation army responsible for cleanliness at Sannidhanam, Pamba, and Nilackal, is set to commence its operations on Thursday. The official inauguration will be conducted by Pathanamthitta Collector A Shibu at Pamba at 8am.
