Operation Kaveri: 57 more Keralites reach India

KOCHI: With Op Kaveri underway, 57 more Keralites reached India from Jeddah on Friday. Norka said while 52 persons reached Bengaluru airport, five landed in Mumbai and reached their homes in Kerala later. While three landed in the capital, rest landed in Kozhikode and Kannur. Of the 52, 10 are on their way to Kozhikode and six will reach Thiruvananthapuram by Friday night. Nineteen others are scheduled to reach Kochi on Saturday.

Four of those who reached Bengaluru were reportedly stopped at the airport as they lacked 'yellow fever card'. The International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP), which is the proof that they have been vaccinated against yellow fever, is mandatory for travelling to and from YF endemic countries. Those without ICVP faced difficulties with emigration clearance and were quarantined at the airport. TNN
