Earlier, he was transferred to Vigilance and Anti-corruption Bureau in Idukki. The transfer of the officer had raised criticism as he was the chief investigating officer in the

nun

rape case in which Bishop

Franco Mulakkal

was arrested.

Many including the fellow nuns of the survivor nun had questioned the move to transfer him out of the district when the trial in the case was about to start. Earlier, Kottayam SP Harisankar who had supervised the investigation in the case was also transferred. The transfer of both these officers at the onset of the trial in the case was looked upon with suspicion by the nuns. The prosecution was also relieved as the DSP Subhash will be easily available here during the trial of the case.

Save Our Sisters (SOS) forum had alleged the involvement of influential hands in the transfer of the officers. Convenor Felix J Pulludan had said that the unexpected transfer came at a time when the SOS was preventing the witnesses being influenced.
