Nine-year-old girl drowns in Bharathapuzha
Palakkad: A nine-year-old girl drowned in Bharathapuzha near Desamangalam on Saturday. The deceased was Veda, daughter of Ajesh, a resident of Mundakkottukurussi in Kayiliad near Shoranur.
Relatives and locals rescued the child and rushed her to a private clinic at Koottupatha first. She was later shifted to Govt Medical College, Thrissur, for specialised treatment; however, her life could not be saved.
The body was handed over to the family after the completion of legal formalities.
