NDA leadership eyes major breakthrough in Kerala
Kochi: BJP-led NDA has expressed optimism about its prospects, positioning itself as a growing third force in Kerala politics. BJP state president Rajeev Chandrashekar said that voter fatigue with both LDF and UDF, along with issues such as alleged governance failures and political controversies, have resonated with the electorate.BJP leaders argue that sustained grassroots efforts and campaign messaging around development have strengthened their position, with expectations of gains in select constituencies. BJP former state president and the party candidate from Aranmula, Kummanam Rajasekharan, said Kerala politics is at a juncture now and the election results would say where it should head. Speaking to the media on Sunday, Rajasekharan expressed confidence over his victory as well as that of the party in Kerala. "I don't have any doubt over the people's mandate. There is no merit in saying anything on the results as it (fate) is there in the ballot box. I am confident of victory. Exit polls have become true sometimes and wrong at other times. We can only understand a trend from exit polls. They predict BJP opening its accounts. The party's understanding is that there will be a hung assembly. People are fed up with both fronts. That is what we can understand from the exit polls," Rajasekharan said. P C George confident of winning with huge margin: BJP candidate from Poonjar, P C George, said he would win the election with a huge margin and offered a bet of Rs 1 crore to back his claim. He was talking to a TV channel. "I will win the election with a huge majority. If anyone has opposing views, they can come forward. I am ready to offer a bet of Rs 1 crore. Shone George will win Pala constituency. Father and son winning the election will be history in Kerala assembly. A lot of history is being rewritten. We will win," George said, expressing confidence. He said no party would have a majority of seats to form govt. He said UDF would get around 65 seats and LDF would get 60 seats. "NDA will get 11 seats and the remaining four will go to independents, resulting in a hung assembly. Other than in Kerala, Congress and CPM are working together in the rest of India. Why should they remain as two parties in the state? They can govern together here, and we are ready to sit in the opposition," George said. Referring to the 2031 assembly elections, George told the TV channel that NDA would form the govt in Kerala.
