Kochi: Kerala Catholic Bishops Council (KCBC) would conduct prayers and a procession holding candles on Tuesday demanding that peace should be established in Manipur at the earliest.
KCBC said that the prayer meeting and procession will be held at Vallarpadam Marian Pilgrim Centre Basilica, seeking peace in Manipur and in solidarity with those killed in the riots and those who fled abandoning their homes. All bishops of the KCBC, priests, and laity would participate in the meeting and procession, the KCBC said.
Meanwhile, the monsoon summit of the KCBC began at the Pastoral Orientation Centre (POC) at Palarivattom on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, bishops, provincials and superiors of various religious orders in the state took part in a joint session which began in the morning.
