in Tiruvalla was hit by a speeding car and died on the spot. A Saudi national was driving the car and the police have taken him into custody.
Jincy was a nurse at Ohdh hospital and had come here five months ago. Her mother, Shoshamma, worked as staff nurse in Jeddah's King Fahd hospital. Shoshamma was planning to resign from her job to take care of her husband who was a cardiac patient.
Malayali community associations were helping the family to bring the body to Kerala for burial.
Indians demand community school:
Indians in Jizan submitted a memorandum to Indian ambassador Ahmed Javed, highlighting the need to open an Indian community school managed by the embassy.
Jizan province bordering Yemen has a strong presence of Indian expatriates.
In the memorandum, they also demanded the opening of a legal aid-cell for helping Indian workers in trouble. They also broached the issue of delay in releasing compensation to dependents of three Malayali expatriates who died in shell attack by Yemen rebels.
The delegation consists of Indian community leaders Dr Mubarak Sani, M Thaha, Shamsu Pookoottur and Haris Kallai.
Javed assured them that he will take appropriate actions according to rules of India and
Saudi Arabia. He said Indian expatriates are the worst affected in the economic slowdown and localization of jobs in the Kingdom.
