Kadavanthara
police arrested two
persons
in connection with the alleged
kidnapping
of an Idukki native youth from a
flat
at Kammattippadam in
Kochi
on Sunday early morning.
The arrested persons have been identified as Muhammed Ajmal, 28, and Sanjay Shahul, 31. Police said that accused forced their way into the flat and forcefully made the victim enter a car. The accused were arrested based on a complaint of Shihab, a friend of the victim.
As per the complaint, the accused came to the flat looking for Shihab as he allegedly told other people about the accused persons — who are all accused in a murder case — staying in
Ernakulam
. The accused were also enraged by the fact that Shihab demanded compensation from them for the damage that they caused to his car while they were driving it.
Based on the complaint, police rescued the victim who was held captive at a lodge at Edapally. Later on the accused were arrested from Edapally. Police said that further investigation would only give a clear picture about the crime. Police have formed a special squad to identify the remaining accused.
Meanwhile, Rural police arrested a person with wash used for brewing arrack. The arrested person has been identified as Kavungal Prasad, 42 of
Vengoor
. Kuruppampady police seized as much as 100 litres of wash from his house.
