KOCHI: In view of the mudslide at Ambalapara along Malakkapra route in Thrissur, district collector V R Krishna Teja has issued a direction to officials concerned to implement traffic restrictions on the stretch.
Divisional forest officer in Vazhachal, police and officials of the Kerala Road Fund Board should examine the road and implement the regulations on Athirapally - Malakkapara road without curtailing the movement of locals.
Warning boards have to be placed in places which are vulnerable to mudslips. The retaining wall in Ambalapara, 37km away from Athirapally, was damaged in the heavy rain on Saturday afternoon. The movement of the small vehicles was restricted on Saturday due to heavy rain in the forest.
