Gave Rs 43.5 lakh to bank's advocate: Preetha Shaji

, who was asked to pay Rs 43.5 lakh to a private bank by the Kerala high court, on Saturday said she has handed over a demand draft for the said amount to the

bank's advocate

. The HC in its order had said Preetha and her family could recover their property at Pathadipadam by giving the amount.

The house was sold by the bank in an auction sale. The HC had asked them to pay Rs 1.89 lakh to the party who purchased the land. "But he refused to collect the demand draft and instead asked us to remit the amount in the court," she said.

The private bank officials didn't comment on the matter.
