THRISSUR: The Chavakkad fast-track special court judge Anyas Thayil has sentenced a 52-year-old man to 110 years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually abusing a 11-year old boy. The judge had earlier slapped 130 years of rigorous imprisonment on the accused in another case of sexually abusing a 10-year old boy.

The judge has also slapped a fine of Rs 7,75,000 on the accused, Sajeevan, of Mangadi Veettil, Orumanayur Muthammavu, near Chavakkad. He will have to undergo another 31 years of rigorous imprisonment, if he fails to remit the fine. According to the special public prosecutor, Siju Muttath the judge has directed the district legal services authority to pay legally eligible compensation to the victim.

The judge had earlier slapped a fine of Rs 8,75,000 on the accused in the case related to the sexual abuse of the 10-year-old boy.

Both the boys were abused on the same day in April 2023. The accused had taken the boys to the terrace of his house offering a nutritional drink. After abusing the boys, he gave a small packet of Boost to them. The incident came to light after one of the boys informed his mother. Subsequently, the second boy also disclosed the details when his mother questioned him, based on the inputs from the other boy.
