Jhansi: On the first day of the three-day of the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board’s written examination for direct recruitment to the posts of constables, civil police and equivalent positions was conducted here peacefully across 28 examination centres in two shifts amidst tight surveillance.
According to ADM (administration) Shiv Pratap Shukla, who is also the nodal officer of the examination, a total of 4900 candidates were absent on the first day.
District magistrate Gaurang Rathi and SSP BBGTS Murthy, along with other officials carried out surprise inspections at several examination centres, including Bundelkhand University, to assess arrangements and ensure the integrity of the recruitment process.
The officials also inspected the command and control rooms established at the centres and reviewed live CCTV footage and recorded surveillance to monitor examination activities. Prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) were enforced across the district.
