Jhansi: Uttar Pradesh BJP president
Pankaj Chaudhary on Sunday dismissed concerns over shortages of LPG and other essential commodities, alleging that opposition parties were spreading misinformation to create unnecessary panic among the public.
Addressing party workers and later speaking to mediapersons, Chaudhary said India had achieved significant progress over the past 12 years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He claimed that while fuel prices had increased by 20-25% globally, the rise in India had been limited to around 5%.
“There is no shortage of LPG or any other essential commodity in the country. The opposition is spreading misleading information to create fear among the people,” he said.
Praising BJP workers, Chaudhary said the party’s cadre remained active throughout the year and maintained constant engagement with the public.
He also attacked the Samajwadi Party’s PDA (Pichhda, Dalit and Alpsankhyak) outreach strategy and expressed confidence about the BJP’s prospects in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.
Responding to a question about the opposition’s PDA strategy ahead of the 2027 assembly elections, he alleged that the people of Uttar Pradesh would not be swayed by what he termed misleading narratives.
“Akhilesh Yadav and his father served as chief ministers on four occasions. Which sections of PDA benefited during their tenure? They only benefited members of their own family,” Chaudhary alleged.
Chaudhary said allegations of financial irregularities in the Ram Mandir project were being examined by the temple trust.
Referring to recent political developments, he claimed that election results in Bihar and West Bengal reflected public disillusionment with family-centric politics. He expressed confidence that Uttar Pradesh would witness a similar trend in the 2027 polls.
On the possibility of a challenge from the INDIA bloc, Chaudhary said the opposition alliance was facing growing internal contradictions and divisions among its constituent parties.
“The INDIA bloc is fragmented. Congress has betrayed long-time allies such as the DMK, and similar differences are surfacing among other partners. People have understood the misleading narratives being propagated by the Samajwadi Party and the INDIA alliance,” he said.
When asked about allegations raised by Samajwadi Party president
Akhilesh Yadav regarding alleged financial irregularities in the Ram Mandir project in Ayodhya, Chaudhary said the matter was under examination by the temple trust.
“A committee has been constituted to investigate the allegations. If anyone is found guilty, strict action will be taken and no one will be spared,” he said.
The minister’s visit was aimed at reviewing organisational activities and interacting with party workers ahead of upcoming political engagements in the state.
