New traffic diversion plan for Bakrid in Kanpur
Kanpur: For a smooth traffic flow on the occasion of Bakrid, Kanpur police has drafted a traffic diversion plan, which will be effective from 5am in the morning till the conclusion of prayers.
Heavy vehicles and general traffic will be directed from key crossings and points around the Eidgah to ensure a smooth flow of devotees.
As per the traffic diversion plan, vehicles coming from Parade and Lal Imli cannot proceed to Bajaria Chauraha from Colonelganj crossing, as they will be diverted via Shani Dev Temple intersection.
Similarly, from Gol Chauraha, traffic will be not allowed to move towards the Eidgah crossing from Benajhabar and will be diverted to Chandani Nursing Home route.
Vehicles coming from Zareeb Chowki crossing will not move forward from Ram Bagh crossing towards Bajariya. They would be redirected from Ram Bagh crossing to Brahma Nagar crossing.
Traffic heading towards the Eidgah from 80 feet road will be diverted from Brahma Nagar crossing .
Similarly, traffic from Chah Bangalia crossing will not proceed towards Eidgah from Shani devi crossing.
Traffic coming from Haleem College crossing would be diverted towards Sisamau crossing.
Similarly, traffic from Kayasthana Road to Bajariya and Bakarmandi dhal will not move from Kayasthana road.
The traffic department has also fixed parking areas to accommodate devotees with out congesting the arterial routes. Specific parking places have been marked for two and four wheelers .
Vehicles coming from the Lal Imli crossing can be parked on both sides of the road from Colonelganj towards Shani Devi temple.
Virendra Swaroop ground shall be open for devotees arriving from the Gol Chauraha and LLR hospital.
Vehicles coming from P Road and 80 feet road can be parked on both side of the Brahma Nagar Crossing till 80 feet road.
Similarly, vehicles coming from Yateemkhana could be parked on both sides of the Lakadmandi road before Kayasthana Crossing.
DCP traffic, Ravindra Kumar, said that people may contact traffic control room at 930510340 for any traffic related queries. For green corridor, people can call at 9454402413.
