Infrastructure development plans of Kanpur discussed

Kanpur: Advisor to the chief minister, Awanish Awasthi while engaging in a meetingon Wednesday, said that comprehensive efforts were underway to elevate the state to a trillion-dollar economy by amalgamating projects across all sectors and regions to ensure collective growth.A meeting was convened at the KDA auditorium concerning urban development, infrastructure enhancement, and economic advancement of Kanpur city. The KDA's presentation encompassed various aspects of the new master plan. Awasthi, said that to make UP a trillion-dollar economy, all sectors are being integrated into projects to ensure growth across all areas. In this regard, a State Capital Region is being developed, and there is a need for an integrated plan for Kanpur, which involves creating a regional plan by connecting nearby areas and divisions. To accelerate the planning and implementation of these projects, a meeting is being held with the CM's economic advisor KV Raju, and representatives from Deloitte. During the discussion, the advisor emphasised the need to work on the metro's TOD policy and to effectively plan and implement sewer systems and waste management as these are crucial for urban development.Awasthi said that Kanpur's master plan for 2031 will soon be approved, which will speed up the city's development. He also stated that development projects will be expanded with a vision for 2051, and a regional plan will be structured with the collaboration of all departments, public representatives, and experienced individuals.Additionally, timelines for these projects will be set, and Deloitte is working on strengthening the state's economic framework and will assist in planning for Kanpur by gathering information at various levels. Chief minister's economic advisor, KV Raju, discussed various aspects of Kanpur's regional plan and requested remote sensing centre officials to provide timely information related to the Kanpur division.Commissioner of Kanpur Division, K. Vijayendra Pandian, stated that detailed discussions took place in the meeting regarding the integrated development, and a regional plan for Kanpur is being created as per the govt's intent, requiring data from various segments, for which cooperation from remote sensing officials is being sought. The officials from the Kanpur Development Authority and experienced experts like Neeraj Srivastava are contributing inputs to draft the regional authority's framework. In this series, the CM's economic advisor KV Raju, has gathered all the information, and Deloitte's experts present in the meeting have collected all inputs to prepare a detailed framework with a timeline.The Commissioner said that good coordination with the Central govt agencies is necessary for Kanpur's metropolitan and urban development and industrial expansion. He also stated that a core team will be formed to draft the regional authority's framework as per govt directives. Neeraj Srivastava also provided his visionary inputs during the discussion.The meeting was attended by district magistrate of Kanpur Nagar, Jitendra Pratap Singh, KDA vice-chairman Madan Singh Garbyal, coordinator Neeraj Srivastava, municipal commissioner Sudhir Kumar, KDA secretary Abhay Singh, Deloitte representatives Murali Mohan T and Shubham Gupta, and KDA town planner Manoj Kumar.
