Fire destroys 9 huts in Maharajpur village

Kanpur: A devastating fire erupted mysteriously in several huts located in Madarikheda village under the Maharajpur police jurisdiction of the district on Wednesday. The blaze, intensified by strong winds, spread swiftly before villagers could contain it. Nine huts were completely destroyed in the incident. Local residents alerted the fire brigade, which arrived promptly to bring the situation under control. While there were no injuries reported, the incident resulted in damages worth several lakh of rupees.The fire consumed the dwellings of Hussain, Irfan, Syed Ali, Kallu, Munshi, Mustaq, Rehmat, Mohammad Sarwar Ali, and Heera. The incident occurred while residents were engaged in their daily activities, with smoke and flames suddenly appearing. Despite immediate attempts by locals to extinguish the flames with water, the fire spread rapidly to neighbouring huts. The affected families could salvage only minimal possessions during the emergency. Maharajpur inspector Sanjay Pandey confirmed that while the origin of the fire remains undetermined, fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident. TNN
