Commandos, security teams to ensure safety in trains

Times News NetworkKanpur: The GRP and RPF have collaboratively resolved to station commandos in civil dress armed with automatic weapons to ensure security of train passengers during the festive season.GRP and RPF have identified over 100 trains that either pass through or originate from Kanpur Central Station and had witnessed incidents of theft and poisoning in the past. The team also conducted a survey to determine the most sensitive areas on these trains in terms of criminal activity.Certain location, including areas beneath the Jhakarkati Bridge, the slum in Govind Nagar, and settlements along the railway line up to Dada Nagar have been designated as highly sensitive by the GRP and RPF. The region between Hathras, Aligarh, and Tundla on Delhi route has also been categorised as highly sensitive. Saptkranti Express, Prayagraj Express, Gorakhdham Express, Unchahar Express, and Sangam Express have been identified as sensitive trains.Central Station GRP in charge Om Singh said that commandos with automatic weapons will be deployed on trains to tackle criminals in any situation. Inspectors, constables, and female constables will also be deployed in civil dress while security teams will also be stationed on Kanpur to Farrukhabad and Lucknow routes to ensure safety.
