Jodhpur: Two persons died and 11 were injured when a bus carrying school children collided with a trailer near Sumerpur in Pali on Thursday morning. The bus had been carrying 52 persons comprising students and staff members.
All the injured were rushed to a hospital in Sheoganj, from where 6 critically injured were rushed to Sirohi. The deceased have been identified as Prakash Bhai (60) and Vipul Choudhary (35). Both of them were employees of the school in Mehsana, Gujrat. According to the circle officer Bhupendra Singh, the bus had been carrying children and staff members of a school in Mehsana and was out on an educational tour to Jodhpur and Jaisalmer.
“At about 7.30am on Thursday, the bus rammed into a trailer from behind. Apparently, the driver could not see the truck due to fog in the morning," said the official, adding that the two persons sitting in the cabin of the bus died on the spot. The collision was so severe that the front part of the bus suffered extensive damage.
