The deceased identified as Mamta Sharma was a popular Haryanvi folk singer who used to sing on stage in religious events. She was a resident of

, her son told media that her mother had gone to attend a stage event on January 15 with Mohit Kumar in his car. From that day, she had not returned home and a complaint was lodged at Kalanaur police station, said the victim's son.

Mohit Kumar told the family on January 16 that while they were going for the event, they met some people near Lahli village. Mamta went with them saying that they were going to

"Suspecting foul play, I had lodged a missing complaint in police station of my mother but police did not care to find her and her body was found today in fields", said Bharat.

Upon intimation, Meham Deputy Superintendent of Police with FSL experts team reached the spot and collected evidence from the crime spot. Police said that they have registered a case against unidentified persons and are busy finding details of the matter from deceased colleague singers.

"We can find some clinching evidence from her phone call records", said police.
