Man held with pistol at Union minister Nitin Gadkari’s event venue

JAMSHEDPUR: A 40-year-old man, Dipu Sharma, was caught carrying a pistol at the venue of Union minister Nitin Gadkari’s programme in Bistupur on Thursday.
Bistupur police station, in-charge Anjani Kumar said Sharma claimed he had the licence of the weapon.
The OC said the man was sent home to bring the document.
Even if the person possesses a legal licence for the arm, he has to take permission from the local administration to carry it to the restricted place.
The pistol was found by the police during frisking of the crowd at the gates of the Gopal Maidan ahead of the programme.
