NEW DELHI: An NIA team has reached
Jammu and
Kashmir's Reasi district and is investigating with local police into the terror attack on a passenger bus.
The attack targeted a bus carrying pilgrims, resulting in the loss of 10 lives and leaving 33 individuals injured.
In response to the incident, a large-scale search operation has been initiated to locate and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the attack.
The NIA team will work in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies to gather evidence and pursue leads.
Terrorists opened fire on a 53-seater bus traveling from the Shiv Khori temple to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra. The attack caused the bus to veer off the road and plunge into a deep gorge near Teryath village in the Poni area. The bus was carrying pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi.
41 people aged between three and 50 were injured in the ambush and 10 suffered gunshot injuries, according to officials.
