Terror activities case: NIA conducts searches in Jammu, seizes incriminating materials
JAMMU: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday conducted raids at multiple locations in Jammu & Kashmir and Chandigarh in separate cases related to terror activities of chiefs/members of proscribed terrorist organizations and seized incriminating materials.
As per sources, the raids/searches in Jammu region were conducted at two places i.e. Ward No 9 of Kahua district and in Khool Kulian in Arnia of Jammu District.
Meanwhile official spokesperson of NIA said, "Today NIA teams conducted searches at 14 different locations in Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir and Delhi.
"The case relates to terror activities of chiefs/members of proscribed terrorist organizations, such as Khalistan Liberation Force, Babbar Khalsa International, International Sikh Youth Federation etc ."
Official spoksperson said, "Such activities include smuggling of terrorist hardware, such as arms, ammunition explosive, IEDs etc. across international borders, for use by operatives/members of terror outfits and organized criminal gangs operating in various parts of the country for carrying out terrorist acts like bomb explosions, targeted killings."
"The case stands registered suo-moto by NIA on 20/08/2022 as RC 37/2022/NIA/DLI," he added.
NIA Spokesperson added that during the searches today in Jammu region were conducted , incriminating materials, including digital devices and documents have been seized.
"Further investigations in the case are in progress, he added.
On Friday, the NIA also conducted searches at 14 locations across five districts of Jammu and Kashmir including cadre of different terror outfits who were conspiring to carry out terrorist and subversive activities in various parts of the Union Territory at the behest of their Pakistani commanders and handlers.
Raids were conducted in Jammu, Kulgam, Anantnag, Pulwama and Baramulla districts.
These searches were conducted after the Jammu wing of the NIA registered a First Information Report (FIR) suo moto under Regular Case No. 5/2022/NIA/JMU at NIA Police Station on June 21, 2022.
During its searches, the NIA teams seized various incriminating materials including digital devices, SIM cards, digital storage devices, etc.
