Ghulam Nabi Azads party rejects speculation about merger with Congress
The Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) denied rumors circulating on social media about Ghulam Nabi Azad's return to Congress. DPAP's chief spokesperson Salman Nizami claimed that Congress was spreading these false rumors to destabilize their party. Nizami clarified that no discussions or meetings had taken place between Azad and Congress officials regarding a merger.
Eye on election, Congress picks new J&K party chief
The Congress has appointed Tariq Hameed Karra as the new president of its J&K unit, replacing Vikas Rasool Wani. Additionally, Tara Chand and Raman Bhalla were named working presidents. The changes were made to improve coordination with allies during upcoming elections. Wani was also named a special invitee to the Congress Working Committee.
