Tiffany Trump to visit Jaisalmer on private India trip; security tightened
Jaisalmer: Tiffany Trump, daughter of US President Donald Trump, is scheduled to visit Jaisalmer with her husband, Michael Boulos, for a two-day visit as part of a private trip to India. The couple is expected to stay overnight at a five-star hotel Sunday and return Monday after visiting major tourist attractions, heritage sites and cultural centres.
District collector Anupama Jorwal said detailed information about the Sunday programme was yet to be received and that comprehensive preparations and security arrangements would be made once the final itinerary is available. In Nov 2018, President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner visited Jaisalmer to attend a wedding and stayed at the same five-star hotel from Nov 22 to 25.
Sources said Tiffany would travel from Agra to Jaisalmer by a private chartered aircraft Sunday, departing Kheria Airport in the afternoon and landing at Jaisalmer Civil Airport around 6pm. While the visit has been described as a private cultural trip, security arrangements were being made as per official protocol.
During their stay, the couple is expected to visit key tourist sites including Sonar Fort and Patwa Havelis, along with other prominent locations. Their return programme is scheduled for 4pm Monday.
The district administration and the local police have been placed on alert due to the high-profile movement. With Jaisalmer located along the India-Pakistan border, security has been tightened at major tourist sites and probable places of stay, and intelligence agencies are monitoring arrangements.
The visit has generated interest among stakeholders in the local tourism sector, including hotel operators and guides, who said it could boost Jaisalmer’s international visibility and lead to increased foreign tourist arrivals.
