RPSC plans to build online exam centres, guesthouses
Jaipur: Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) plans to set up an advanced IT (Information Technology) infrastructure that would include modern online examination centres. A fund of Rs 50 crore allocated for modernisation of RPSC and Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in the latest state Budget would be used on human resources, setting up modern examination systems, and online examination centres, said RPSC sources.“Selection agencies in some states like Kerala have their own in-house examination halls, where they organise important examinations. We are also planning to construct a similar hall on the RPSC campus having an online infrastructure,” said an official.RPSC currently uses schools and colleges across the state to hold recruitment examinations. With new, modern examination halls especially designed for online examinations, the commission could organise some of the major examinations in a swift and transparent manner under one roof, said officials. Funds allocated in the Budget would also be used to rope in subject experts from different cities, they added.“We need renowned experts for different subjects. We have decided to build accommodation for them in Ajmer to help us. The new funding would also be used to pay their fees,” said an official, adding that new guesthouses would be built for the experts to stay in Ajmer. The latest funding will also help RPSC expedite the examination process. “Once we get the funding, we will be able to make the examination process seamless and more efficient for students,” added the official.
