RPF extended help to over 38k women passengers in ’24

Kota: To ensure the safety of female passengers, Railway Protection Force (RPF) has initiated ‘Operation Meri Saheli', a comprehensive programme under which over 38,000 female passengers have been provided help by West Central Railway (WCR) during their travel this year, said officials in Kota on Saturday.
"‘Operation Meri Saheli' aims at prioritising and ensuring women's safety through enhanced security protocols for women travelling by train. RPF has disseminated crucial safety guidelines and awareness among female passengers to facilitate prompt assistance during crises," said Rohit Malviya, the senior commercial manager and public relation officer of Railways in Kota.
As part of the operation, RPF has enhanced security arrangements at railway stations, put in place specialised security protocols for female passengers at stations and aboard trains, deployed female RPF personnel on platforms and female guards aboard trains.
RPF urged female passengers to maintain vigilance and contact its personnel immediately during emergencies. "Using RPF's dedicated helpline and adopting the safety measures ensure secure travel for women," said an official.
