The achievements of the ruling NDA-BJP government were highlighted on those posters, which was also a violation of the MCC. This is the first EC notice issued to a prominent political figure ahead of the

Lok Sabha

elections in Rajasthan.

“When the code of conduct is in force, one cannot publicise the achievements of the ruling government. When we found the wall paintings displaying the achievements of the ruling BJP in Amber area, we removed those paintings first,” said Jaipur Collector and District Election Officer (DEO) Jagroop Singh Yadav.

“We issued him notice yesterday (Friday) and sought his reply within seven days as to why did he put up those wall paintings when MCC is in force. We have also told him to pay up for the expenditure incurred in removal of those posters," he added.

The EC notice was issued to

Rathore

by assistant returning officer (ARO) of Amber assembly constituency Laxmikant Katara.

The action was taken against him after the district election department received the complaint through C-vigil app, said Yadav.
