Jaipur: Rajasthan University (RU) will begin admissions for the 2026–27 academic session on June 1, with the entire process conducted online. The academic session will commence on July 1, university officials said.
Students can submit online application forms via the university’s admissions portal, which will soon be accessible from RU’s main website.
This year, applicants will have to fill a separate admission form for each course. No hard copy of the application form will be required.
University authorities advised students to carefully read the admission brochure, which contains detailed information about the admission process, before submitting their applications.
Prof Ram Avtar Sharma, convener of the Central Admission Committee, said admissions will be merit-based and conducted under the semester scheme.
He said the process will cover three- and four-year undergraduate programmes offered by RU’s four constituent colleges, including B.A., B.Com., B.Sc., BCA and BBA courses, along with undergraduate programmes under the Faculty of Fine Arts, such as BPA and BBA, besides BTech and MTech programmes.
Highlighting the focus on skill-based education under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Sharma said RU has introduced Apprenticeship-Embedded Degree Programmes (AEDP) aimed at strengthening practical learning and employability.
“These courses are designed to equip students with financial literacy, practical skills and workplace readiness,” Sharma said.
According to the university, AEDP courses include banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI), human resource operations, and content and creative writing, among others.
Under AEDP, students will undergo apprenticeship training during the third year under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) and will receive a minimum monthly stipend of Rs 9,000, Sharma added.
