Raj Cong demands high-level probe into NEET-UG 2024, 2025 exams ‘irregularities’
Jaipur: Rajasthan Congress Friday demanded a high-level probe into alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 and 2025 examinations, claiming the arrest of alleged BJP-linked accused Dinesh Biwal in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case points to a wider racket operating for years. Addressing a press conference, PCC chief Govind Singh Dotasra said the investigation should be conducted by a Joint Parliamentary Committee, or a retired Supreme Court judge, arguing that CBI is under the Centre’s control. He also demanded the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Dotasra alleged that five children from the family of Dinesh Biwal and Mangilal Biwal, arrested by the CBI, secured admission in govt MBBS colleges in 2025 after allegedly gaining access to leaked question papers. “NEET papers of 2024 and 2025 were also leaked, but the govt refused to acknowledge it to protect the masterminds of the scam,” he alleged. He claimed the accused were part of a paper leak gang operating from Jamwaramgarh and used leaked papers for their own family members before selling them to others. “These children appeared in NEET-UG 2024 but were unsuccessful. In 2025, they allegedly got access to the paper and all five secured admissions in govt medical colleges,” he said.
Congress functionaries alleged Dinesh Biwal, a resident of Jamwaramgarh, was a BJP office-bearer. Dotasra accused the BJP govt in Rajasthan of initially trying to suppress the case and said the 2026 leak investigation indicated the same network had access to question papers in 2025. He cited an incident in which a person from a coaching institute in Sikar was allegedly turned away when attempting to file a complaint at a police station, later emailing the NTA, after which Rajasthan’s SOG acted.
Dotasra said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah had promised strict action against paper leaks during the Rajasthan Assembly polls. However, he alleged the NEET-2026 paper leak originated from Rajasthan and involved BJP-linked individuals. Dotasra demanded immediate action against influential accused allegedly connected to the BJP.
Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully also targeted the Centre. “Paper leaks have occurred for three consecutive years, and the education minister is refusing to take the responsibility. He should resign and apologise to the students,” Jully said. He questioned why an FIR was not registered in Rajasthan for nine days and alleged the delay was to avoid invoking the state’s stringent anti-paper leak law, which provides for life imprisonment and fines up to Rs 10 crore. Jully also referred to reports that two NEET aspirants allegedly died by suicide and said, “Twenty-two lakh students appeared in the exam and families spent huge amounts of money, yet nobody is taking the responsibility.”
