On Monday, board meeting of JMC-Greater will be held with all 150 councillors who will be putting up their problems in front of the board.

On the other hand, councillors of JMC-Heritage are desperate for a board meeting, but no decision has been taken till now. JMC-Heritage councillors even protested at the headquarters of the corporation in

Walled City

many times, but no decision has been made by the mayor.

Mohd Zakariya

, independent councillor from ward 65, said that the civic condition of the city is pathetic. "

Garbage

is not picked up on time, open depots line every corner. Moreover, working committees are yet to be formed in the corporation. We have staged protest many times in the corporation head office, but nothing has been done even though a board meeting is a necessity," said Zakariya.

Sources at the corporation told TOI that there are no plans to hold a board meeting at JMC-Heritage, not the MLAs of Walled City are ready for it. There are total 11 independent councillors in the corporation out of which nine support Congress and two are with BJP. Councillors are demanding formation of working committees for a long time, but it is said that the MLAs of the Walled City are yet to form a consensus on this. Until the working committees are formed, it is likely that board meeting will face opposition from councillors of all parties. tnn
