Jaipur traffic police initiates drive against modified vehicles

Jaipur: The Jaipur Traffic police seized 41 vehicles and issued challans against 65 more vehicles on Wednesday for several types of vehicle modifications.

A team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Prem Singh, and ASI Gopal Singh seized 15 vehicles at the Kisan Dharmkanta Chouraha in Jhotwara. Out of the 15 vehicles there were four Thars and eleven Scorpios.

“These vehicles have black window films installed and undergone modifications like modified bumpers and tyres bigger than the normal size,” stated an official.

Another joint campaign team comprising traffic police and the transport department took enforcement action against 65 vehicles with illegal modifications at various toll plazas. Challans were issued against all these 65 vehicles.

“We have constituted teams to conduct regular special drives, ensuring consistent enforcement action against violating drivers and vehicle owners,” stated DCP (Traffic) Yogesh Goyal.
