Under the agreement signed in November 2019, UNESCO made a baseline study of 1500 artists and crafts persons to identify the skill and resource gaps. Accordingly, it held workshops, training camps and provided resources.

Amitava Bhattacharya representing UNESCO-department of tourism project for strengthening ICH based tourism, said, “We will hold shows in various cities of the country to promote cultural heritage of the western Rajasthan to attract tourists to the region. The initiative aims at connecting the artists and artisans to the outside world which will in turn create livelihood opportunities for them.”
