Cong to hold 2-day Chintan Shivir at Salasar from July 1

Jaipur: The Congress is also focusing on the booths and blocks to strengthen the party organization at the grassroots level.
A meeting was held under the chairmanship of AICC general secretary organization K C Venugopal at Delhi on Monday. The 2-hour long meeting was attended by the AICC in-charge for Rajasthan Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, three co-in charges- Amrita Dhawan, Virendra Singh Rathore and Qazi Muhammad Nizamuddin - and PCC president Govind Singh Dotasra.
After the meeting, Randhawa said the party will hold a meeting of the 51,000 mandal -level presidents followed by block presidents in July and also expedite the remaining appointments at the organization at block, district, and state levels. He said the list of appointees has been handed over to the party's high command for approval. He said prior to the meeting of Mandal and block presidents, a meeting of the MLAs and MLA candidates in the last assembly elections would be held at Salasar in Churu district on July 1 and 2. Apart from its religious significance as the famous Salasar Balaji, a Hanuman temple, a revered place of worship for Hindus, it also has political significance as it comes under the Churu district which is the home district of the opposition leader in the assembly Rajendra Singh Rathore. He said a meeting earlier scheduled in Delhi on July 1 with party president Mallikarjun Kharge has been postponed due to the meeting(Chintan Shivir) at Salasar.
Randhawa in reply to a question by the media said no discussion was held on the role of Sachin Pilot and the meeting was mainly confined to organisational matters.
In the meeting, the co-in charges were directed to shortlist suitable candidates in their respective areas. According to party sources in about 70 constituencies where the party had to face defeats consecutively, the party is searching for winning candidates to contest on party tickets.
