JAIPUR Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday laid the foundation stone for reconstruction of Rajasthan House on Prithviraj Road in New Delhi.
“The reconstruction of this building has always been our priority. Visitors from Rajasthan coming to New Delhi would find high-end facilities here. This state guest would showcase Rajasthani style of architecture,” said Gehlot.
The new Rajasthan House would come up on 7,050 metres of land in Delhi’s Lutyen’s zone. It would be the state guest house with a two-storied basement parking, a cafeteria, a dining hall, and other facilities. The building would also house a gymnasium, a conference hall and a library on the first floor. Its terrace would have a yoga room, a terrace garden and a party hall, said officials.
“The spirit, culture and tradition of Rajasthan have been prominently aligned with the basic elements and architectural style of this building in the plan to construct it. It would be a green building with water harvesting, solar system, and waste management facilities,” said resident commissioner Dhiraj Srivastava. “We are going to complete the construction of the new Rajasthan House by June 2024,” he added.
The government has also approved Rs 256.91 crore for construction of Nehru Youth Transit Hostel and Facility Centre at Udaipur House, said Srivastava. The government has further sanctioned Rs 42.89 crore to develop the Bikaner House as an internationally recognized art and cultural centre.
