Class 8 student returning from school after board exam gang-raped by 3 youths in Rajasthan's Bundi
KOTA: A girl studying in Class 8 was allegedly gang-raped by 3 youths in a village under Kapren police station in Bundi district Friday noon while she was returning from school after taking the board exam. The girl is currently under treatment at a hospital in Kota, police said.
The minor reportedly reached home bleeding on Friday afternoon and was taken to a local hospital, where doctors referred her to JK Lone Mother and Child Hospital in Kota. Police recorded her statement on Saturday and lodged a case of gang rape under Pocso Act against 3 identified youths of the area.
DSP, Kapren, Ashok Joshi said that according to the report lodged by her parents, 3 youths she was familiar with approached her while she was standing outside her school gate and one of them offered her water to drink. After drinking water, she allegedly fell semi-conscious, and the 3 youths took her some distance away where they allegedly raped her and fled from the spot.
A passerby acquainted with her reportedly assisted her and took her to her maternal grandmother's house, where she narrated her ordeal, the DSP said.
The minor underwent a medical examination on Saturday and the report is awaited, he added.
The 3 accused youths are yet to be detained, the DSP said, declining to disclose their names.
