Balotra man kills 55-yr-old mom, arrested

Jaisalmer: A son murdered his mother with a sharp weapon in Balotra district’s Kanana area on Monday night. Police on Tuesday morning arrested the son.Balotara deputy SP Neerija Kumari Sharma said that on Tuesday morning they received information about a woman’s body lying near the Kanana bus stand toilet. Police reached the spot and also found a sharp weapon near the body. The deceased was identified as Mohini Devi (55), a resident of Kanana.She said that initial investigation found that Mohini Devi was killed by her son, Govind Das. She said Mohini had left her husband and married someone else. Govind was her son from her first husband. Later, Mohini’s second husband died. Her mental condition deteriorated and she left her home. She would roam around on the roads, due to which Govind was taunted by people. An angry Govind took this extreme step.The police detained her son, who confessed to the crime and was arrested, DSP Sharma said.
