Bhanwar Lal and his seven children - five sons and three daughters - cast their votes through Election Commission's home voting system, a rare occasion when so many members of a single family opted for the facility.

"The current generation of the family is suffering from a genetic disorder and all the brothers and sisters, aged between 35 and 22 years, have a disability of over 40%. We could not trace the family while preparing the list of home voters during Dec 2023 assembly election. But this time, we included the entire family in home voters' list," said Babulal, block social security official.

Sarothiya village falls under the Sujangarh assembly segment of Churu Lok Sabha constituency.

"The family has a small plot of agricultural land. They eak out their livings from farming and the disability pensions of the five brothers," Babulal said.
