3 held for man’s murder over inter-caste marriage

Jaipur: City police Wednesday arrested three men accused of murdering a 27-year-old man in broad daylight in Jaisinghpura Khor on June 21, allegedly enraged by his inter-caste love marriage.ADCP (north) Bajrang Singh Shekhawat said the victim, Govind Prajapat, was ambushed near Pashu Hatwara Chowki around 10 am while on his way to work. The accused — Ajay Saini, Om Prakash, and Ranjit Saini — allegedly killed him over his marriage to Payal Saini of Parsawali Dhani, which her family had strongly opposed. The couple had recently welcomed a baby daughter. All three accused are cousins of Payal Saini.Govind's mother, Rajni Prajapat, lodged an FIR stating that members of her daughter-in-law's family had previously threatened her son and plotted his murder. Police formed multiple teams and launched a state-wide manhunt. CCTV footage and ATM withdrawals helped trace the suspects to Shahpura, Ringus, Khatushyamji, Sikar, and Salasar Balaji before their arrest.Police learnt that the accused had withdrawn money from an ATM in Shahpura, purchased clothes, and travelled toward Ringus. A team was dispatched to Ringus, Khatu Shyamji, Sikar, and Salasar Balaji to search bus stands, railway stations, and temples.Further intelligence suggested that the trio was planning to reach Sanwaria Seth via Ajmer. Acting on a tip-off from a confidential informant, police discovered that Ajay and Om Prakash had boarded a bus from Mandfiya to Jaipur.Investigators coordinated with travel agents and confirmed that Ajay had booked the tickets. While one team discreetly followed the bus, another in plain clothes waited at Sindhi Camp. The accused were arrested upon arrival in Jaipur.
