ITANAGAR

: Manipur’s coronavirus caseload climbed up to 10,477 after 178 persons, including 21 Central Armed Police Force personnel, tested positive in the past 24 hours.

With 7,982 patients having been discharged from different Covid care centres after recovering, 106 of them since Sunday night, the active cases in the state now stand at 2,431, a state health department statement read on Monday, adding that the recovery rate is 76.18%.

To date, 64 persons have died of the disease at different hospitals, most of them because of co-morbid health conditions.

The newly-infected civilians are residents of Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Churachandpur, Kakching, Kangpokpi, Chandel, Tamenglong and Noney districts.

Of them, 156 patients have no travel history, while the remaining one from Imphal East is a returnee, the statement added.
