Man held for killing friend near Petlawad

Indore: Jhabua police arrested a man for killing his friend whose body was found near Bamanjhiri turning in Petlawad area last week.

The victim, identified as Shantu Pargi of Chanwarapada village, had gone missing on May 17. His brother Ishwar Pargi lodged a missing complaint after repeated searches failed to trace him. The next day, Shantu’s body was recovered from Bamanjhiri area with severe injuries on his face.

Following the postmortem examination report, Petlawad police registered a murder case. During investigation, police learnt that the deceased was last seen with his friend Dinesh alias Ditiya Mori, also a resident of Chanwarapada. Liquor bottles, a water bottle and other material evidence recovered from the spot strengthened suspicion against him.

Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Dinesh on May 23. During questioning, he confessed that he was upset as the victim used to visit his house in his absence. Nursing a grudge over this, he allegedly took Shantu to an isolated spot on the pretext of a liquor party and killed him on the spot.
