Indore: Indore crime branch has busted an interstate gang of car thieves and arrested five persons besides recovering 11 four-wheelers.

(Indore).
DCP (crime branch) Nimish Agrawal told mediapersons that the accused used portable devices to bypass a vehicle’s ECU and then take its control. “The accused used to break windshield of the vehicle and connect the device with ECU and take its control within 20 seconds. They used to conduct recce before targeting vehicles especially those parked on colony roads and streets, especially between 4am and 6 am. After stealing the vehicle, the accused used to change their registration plates, and use them for recce and targeting other vehicles,” Agrawal said.
The gang members were active in Indore for last three months and had stolen more than 15 vehicles from Bhawarkuan,

Chandan Nagar

, Khajrana,

Tilak Nagar

, Chhatripura, Mhow, Annapurna, Rajendra Nagar, Kishanganj between January and March. The police have recovered 11 of them.
