DAVV expands course options, adds 515 seats for 2026–27 admissions

Indore: Students seeking more career-focused options after class 12 will have wider choices at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) from the 2026–27 academic session. The university is set to introduce 10 new integrated courses across engineering, pharmacy, cybersecurity and basic sciences, increasing total seats by 515.The move is expected to benefit students looking for direct entry into specialised fields without switching streams later. The proposed courses have been cleared by the Board of Studies and will be placed before DAVV's executive council for final approval. They will be included in the upcoming admission process after the approval.In the pharmacy stream, students will get new options such as MPharma and MBA (Pharmacy), along with an increase in BPharma seats from 60 to 100. In engineering, three new programmes will be available at the Institute of Engineering and Technology, including electronics and telecommunication, industrial production, and MBA in technical management, each with 60 seats. A new BTech course in cybersecurity with 60 seats will also be introduced.A key addition is the launch of integrated MSc courses in mathematics, physics, and statistics. These programmes will allow students to enrol right after class 12, offering a continuous academic path in subjects where undergraduate courses were not earlier available at the university.In biotechnology, students will have the option of one-year MSc courses in biotechnology and bioinformatics, alongside the existing two-year programmes.University officials said the courses have been designed to match current industry needs, improving job readiness. DAVV vice-chancellor prof Rakesh Singhai said admission to some courses will be through the common university entrance test, while others will follow a separate process after final approval.
