IMPHAL: In order to upgrade
road connectivity
in the state, the
Manipur government is planning to construct elevated highways and ring roads, chief minister N Biren Singh said on Sunday.
The state government has also submitted a proposal with an estimated cost of around Rs 1000 crore.
As the infrastructural development of the state is dependent on the engineers, Biren asked them to ensure proper planning and implementation of the projects and not be pressurised in any way by politicians and bureaucrats of the state.
To streamline the engineering departments, Biren urged the engineers' fraternity to submit a proposal to maintain a proper transfer and postings policy of the departments.
The government also said that it will discuss about the re-creation of the post of technical secretary soon.
He said that such meeting in future would help the government understand the needs and issues of the state's engineers better.
