Over 4L BJP workers gear up to canvas in strife-torn state

Imphal: The ruling BJP, which has a whopping 4.8 lakh karyakartas (primary members) in strife-torn Manipur, is gearing up to start canvassing for its candidates for the ensuing two-phase Lok Shaba polls in the state, reports K Sarojkumar Sharma.
However, they are awaiting the announcement of poll nominees by the party’s central parliamentary board.
“We have already set up a state-level election management committee consisting of 32 different departments ,” said N Nimbus Singh, senior vice- president of the Manipur unit of the party on Sunday.
